Tonsil stones is also medically referred to as tonsilloliths. It is a gross condition and many people would do anything just to get rid of it. Chewing raw garlic has also been shown as an effective way of dealing with tonsil stones. Garlic has antibacterial properties that kill the sulfur producing bacteria that cause formation of the stones. It is recommended that the patients chew the garlic several times in a day.

Another common method to remove the tonsil stones involves the use of a cotton swab and your fingers. This method may be invasive but it works. With the help of a cotton swab, apply soft pressure on the stones and then use your fingers expel them. You should sterilize your hands first before starting the procedure. However, you should be careful as the throat is very sensitive and high pressure may cause bleeding.

Vegetables such as carrots and celery are hard and crunchy. Consequently, they are able to scrape off the stones, loosen them and eventually remove them.It is therefore advisable that you eat more of this vegetables.

As might already know, lemon juice is rich in vitamin C. Experts have been able to prove that this vitamin possesses antibacterial properties. Gargle the lemon juice for at least a minute before you swallow. 

Yoghurt is a known probiotic as it has been shown to contain numerous friendly bacteria that help the body fight diseases and in this case, it helps the body to naturally get rid of the stones.

Myrrh, lemon grass and thieves oil are examples of essential oils that possess both anti inflammatory and antibacterial activities and are therefore able to eliminate the tonsil stones. You should add this essential oils to your tooth brush and brush at least twice daily.

Apart from getting rid of the bad breath that is caused by tonsil stones, onions also contain antibacterial properties important for the complete removal of the tonsil stones. For you to maximally enjoy the benefits you should chew onions at least twice daily.
